Born in 1989, Hugo moved to Lisbon at the age of 14 to study audio and video.
He began his career as an ENG camera operator in 2007 at SIC Television (2007 - ⁠2015), and made a brief stop at the production company Até ao Fim do Mundo
(2008 - 2010).
In 2013, he premiered his first documentary “Aldeia dos Tísicos”, which was
selected for several national and international Film Festivals and distinguished
with several prizes.
From 2015 to 2019, he worked as an European correspondent reporter in Geneva and Brussels.
He returned to Portugal in January 2020, where he has been working as a  
freelancer cameraman for national and international broadcast tvs.
As Director of Photography, he was involved in “George” which was concluded in August 2024.
